The Purpose

The purpose of the athletic program at NHCA is to provide students with a setting to glorify God through the development and exercise of personal character, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and athletic ability. Student athletes are encouraged to do their best and to learn the vital life-skills of being a team player. In victory or defeat, students are taught to demonstrate both grace and dignity.

Through a developing program of interscholastic sports, our athletes compete in:

  • Basketball (MS/HS girls/boys)
  • Soccer (MS/HS co-ed)
  • Volleyball (MS/HS girls)
  • Cheerleading (6-8th grade girls)
  • Tennis (MS/HS co-ed)

As our program expands, we hope to add additional sporting opportunities. Our teams currently compete against public, private, and other club teams.

Athletic Director

Please join us in welcoming our new Athletic Director and middle school PE teacher, Katie Greiner. Katie lives in Circleville with her husband Bret, son Brixen, and soon to be welcoming another son in early March.  A native of Cape Coral, Florida, her family stretches from Ohio to the sunshine state, and she enjoys visiting relatives often.  They attend Emmett Chapel United Methodist Church in Circleville. Katie attended the University of Florida, where she earned her bachelors in Telecommunications (TV Broadcasting) and worked in several capacities within the athletic department as a student.  After graduating, Katie was invited to join the new football staff under Urban Meyer.  After five seasons with Gator Football (and two National Championships!), Katie moved back to Cape Coral where she taught and coached cheerleading at Cape Coral High School. In 2013, Katie was promoted to Athletic Director at Cape Coral High School, where she remained for two years.  While being the AD, she earned her masters in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.  Shortly after winning a national championship at Ohio State, Coach Meyer recruited Katie to Columbus to work for him again and the Buckeye Football team.  She worked in administration and operations for the Buckeye Football team for five seasons.  During the pandemic, Katie felt led to return to high school athletics. She has always felt as though she belonged working with youth through their involvement in sports. She spent the fall of 2020 at Chillicothe High School as their Assistant Athletic Director and Ticket Manager. Katie and her family are very excited to join the NHCA family! She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience in athletic administration and more importantly, she cannot wait for the opportunity to share her faith with the New Hope community and beyond. She is most excited to encourage and witness growth among the students with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
